Inverted Sea
Developed for the Kaituo Xin Competition
Inverted Sea is a roguelike action game built around tower-climbing combat, integrating puzzles, strategic choices, and a carefully-woven storyline. Presented in a 2.5D top-down view, the game offers two tailored modes—Story Mode and Combat Mode—allowing players to engage through narrative immersion or pure tactical challenge. You take on the role of an unnamed explorer traveling through ever-changing maps, uncovering secrets about your own identity and the surreal, inverted world around you.
Role: Environment Artist
Team: Worked in a 9-member team (Design, Writing, VFX, Programming, Art).
Key Deliverables: Created three distinct maps (Forest, Desert, Styx) with themed assets (e.g., flora, ruins, magic circles).
Technical Collaboration: Partnered with programming to refine level layout and optimize effect implementation.
